If you are looking for a delicious dessert that can surprise your guests, what never fails is a good chocolate cake. Try making the impossible cake that everyone is talking about, a chocolate cake with two different flavors and colors that is ready in less than 1 hour and will be irresistible. Originally from Latin America, this dessert has spread to all corners of the world because of how easy it is to prepare, how rich it is and how colorful it is on a festive table.

Although there are different ways to make the skinny cake, we chose the most simple and light consisting of two different parts in terms of taste and color, a layer of dark chocolate, and another of white chocolate, all coated with homemade liquid caramel. Best of all, heor you will have it ready in 35 minutes.

What ingredients do you need?

To prepare our chocolate flan recipe, you will only need 6 ingredients which you won’t have any trouble finding: dark chocolate fudge, white chocolate fudge, whipped cream, milk, curd and sugar. We prepare it with one part cream and one part milk because with this simple trick, we will achieve a spongier texture.

The recipe for the amazing cake

for 4 people


  • 200 grams of dark chocolate fudge
  • 200 grams of white chocolate fudge
  • 500 ml of whipped cream
  • 500 ml of milk
  • 2 packets of curd
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of water

Step by step

  1. cook the caramel

    Dilute the sugar with the water in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until you get a golden caramel. Pour carefully into the bottom of a large glass bowl. Move the pan with your hands so that the caramel is well distributed over the entire surface.

  2. Prepare the dark chocolate part

    Dilute one of the curd packets in half a glass of milk. Mix half the milk with half the cream in a pot and let the pot come to a boil. When it starts to boil, reduce the heat to a minimum, add the curd while stirring and add the dark chocolate in pieces, stirring constantly until it melts. Pour this concoction into the pan and let it cool in the fridge.

  3. Prepare the white chocolate part

    Dilute the other envelope with the curd in another half glass of milk. Mix the remaining milk and cream in a saucepan and bring to a boil. As soon as it starts to boil, reduce the heat to a minimum, pour the curd while stirring and add the white chocolate in pieces. Stir until the chocolate melts.

  4. finish the flan

    Carefully pour the previous preparation over the baking sheet that you have kept in the refrigerator. Let the bowl cool and keep it in the fridge for 24 hours. When you go to unmold it, a good trick to get it out effortlessly is to submerge the flan box halfway into hot water and pour it directly into a long serving dish.
