There is a model parade in front of the 27 international judges present. Beauty, coat, height, movement and gait are noted. Only from 15:30 the best dog of each group of the day is determined. This Sunday at 18:00 the best dog of the show 2022 will be announced.

Breeders from all over France

Among dog breeds, one stands out: the French Bulldog. Approximately 130 specimens from approximately thirty breeders compete in this French Bulldog Club competition for the title of Champion of France.

Among the breeders there are Olivier, Natasha and David. Olivier is from Paris, Natasha is from Creuse and David is from Reunion. Arrived on Wednesday with two females, Sarah and Symphony, the latter flies on Monday 13 June to his native island. Round trip of nearly 20,000 kilometers to compete. “My brother lives in Perigueux and I came to this event,” says David. It’s always nice to meet others and share this moment. »

Marie-Aurora and Delfina traveled from Landes to this event with two Akita Inu, Fumiaki and Sakura, a male and his daughter from Japan. The two women started Mount Fuji Estate Breeding a year ago and have 12 Akitas. They came to the show “not ready to leave the dogs in their natural state and see if they meet the breed standards.”

Natasha and Ali came with Rafal and Speranza, two English Mastiffs. This dog in adulthood can reach 90 centimeters and 115 kilograms and impresses young and old alike. “These are huge animals that eat almost a kilogram of food a day,” Ali notes.
